Discipline Guidelines

For the Junior Boys, Girls, Senior Boys, Men's and Ladies divisions, the Free Reformed Soccer Association has implemented the following discipline guidelines with the aim of improving the standard of fair-play within our Christian soccer league.

1. FIVE OFFICIAL CAUTIONS

A player who accumulates five (5) cautions (yellow cards) within a period of one playing season shall be automatically suspended without hearing and without appeal from the player's following league or cup game, whichever comes first. After having served the (1) one game suspension, the player shall be eligible to resume play unless notified that further disciplinary action is being applied. If a player receives two cautions in one match and consequently is suspended, the cautions shall NOT become part of the caution accumulation. The two cautions automatically constitute an automatic suspension (see Guideline 4).

2. TEN OFFICIAL CAUTIONS

Having accumulated the cautions as per Guideline 1, players receiving a further five (5) cautions (yellow cards) in the current season shall be required to serve a (2) two game suspension which must be served in the player's following league or cup games, whichever comes first.

3. FIFTEEN OFFICIAL CAUTIONS

Having accumulated the cautions as per Guideline 1 and 2, players receiving a further single caution (yellow card) in the current season shall be required to serve a (3) three game suspension which must be served in the player's following league or cup games, whichever comes first.

4. TWO OR MORE AUTOMATIC SUSPENSION

If a player receives two or more automatic suspensions throughout the season, either with 2 cautions in one match (1 match suspension) or a direct red card (3 match suspension), the player will receive an extra match suspension. This will mean if the player who has already received an automatic suspension has a game with 2 cautions, she/he shall serve a 2-match suspension. If the player received a red card, the player shall serve a 3-match suspension. Rule 5 still applies.

5. MORE THAN SEVEN (7) WEEKS SUSPENSION IN A SEASON

If a player has served more than seven weeks of suspension in the current season, either through the above schedules or by a mixture of red and yellow cards, the player will be expelled for the remainder of the current season. In the next season, if the player registers to play, the player will be on a good behaviour notice. If s/he again is suspended or expelled through the above laws, the player can never be a member or registered player of the FRSL again. This can be overruled by the full majority of the FRSL Executive Committee.

6. RED CARDS

If a player receives a direct red card during a match, the player will serve a 2-match suspension. If a player receives two cautions in one match, then the player will serve a 1-match suspension.

7. CUP GAMES

Please note that the Cup Games have different rules than stated above for cards.
